Vermicompost and NPK versus chemical fertilizer

Urea and DAP show high N and P on the label. EcoKhaad shows smaller numbers and still improves crops because the nutrients sit in organic matter and the soil life can move them to the root.

What chemicals do well, and where they fall short

  • They give a quick flush of growth.
  • Extra nitrogen and phosphorus wash off in rain and over-irrigation.
  • Repeated heavy use hardens soil and cuts the microbes that release locked nutrients.

What vermicompost adds

Cow-dung vermicompost releases nutrients slowly through the season. Azotobacter helps fix nitrogen in the root zone. PSB helps unlock phosphate already in the soil. Trichoderma supports a healthier root environment. Together they sit next to fertilizer; they do not invent a printed NPK that replaces every bag of urea.

A practical approach for many farms is compost as the base in the bed or thaala, then chemical fertilizer cut back over seasons as soil structure improves. Starting doses are on the dosage page.
