Fruit orchards: vermicompost in the thaala

Fruit trees take compost in the thaala, the basin under the canopy where feeder roots sit. EcoKhaad is cow-dung vermicompost with Trichoderma, Azotobacter, and PSB. It is not raw dung and not an oil-cake blend.

How to apply

Clear weeds in the basin. Spread compost in a ring, keep it a little away from the trunk, and mix lightly into the top soil. Water after. A starting practice for many growers is about 5–8 kg per mature tree, so one 50 kg bag covers roughly six to ten trees. Young plants take less.

When

Common windows are before flowering and after harvest. Match the timing to your crop calendar. Keep bags in shade until the day you open them.

More orchard detail is on the orchards page. Bag orders and tractor loads leave from Village Samgoli, Derabassi.
